One of the best places to catch a sunset in Maine is Small Point in Phippsburg. Head Beach and Hermit Island Campground occupy the western side of the peninsula, with long views over Casco Bay. I've been here many times, but there are always new angles to explore and new light to be seen. On this evening, the sun made a fairly dramatic exit and lit up the blueberry bushes in front of me as it did. I wanted to get more of the cliffs below, but that will have to wait for another trip!
My friend Jon Secord has been coming here for years, and this summer was able to capture some great seascape milky way shots. Check out his work, I highly recommend it!
